Back The Pack – A Drop Of Inspiration
A friend of ours was in Haiti last month helping to launch a company that develops a backpack to enable easier personal water transportation. Brilliant idea, amazing concept.
Their belief – “we are a group of entrepreneurs who believe that the idea of innovating products and business models to improve the lives of others is a noble objective. With passion, and focus we can scale our beliefs. As a group we are determined to constantly seek outcomes that lend themselves to ensuring that the lives of those living in developing countries matter and are respected.
The WaterWear™ pack is the lowest cost, ergonomically correct way to manually transport water from source to home. It is the first for purpose designed water transport product that is economically viable for developing economies and disaster relief conditions. The Pack holds up to 20 liters of water and easily collapses when empty, allowing for safe handling and storage. It is made using an industrial grade woven polypropylene which has the very best combination of strength, weight and cost of any available material.
The WaterWear™ pack is designed with a base which allows the pack to stand on its’ own while the user pumps or dispenses water. Its roll top closures insure low cost and easy access to remove and/or clean the liner. A simple, yet visionary idea, the pack will make a profound difference in the lives of millions of women and children who are burdened with the task of carrying water over 200 million hours per day.”
